WHERE WOULD YOU BE
WITHOUT KEYBOARD CAT?

What about L'll Bub, Grumpy Cat – and all the other feline comrades who make your world a better place? As the song goes, “The internet is made of cats. Cats cats cats cats cats”. The very fact we share nearly four million cat photos and videos on the Internet each and every day does back up that lyric somewhat. What’s more, thanks to our limitless online obsession with felines, many lolcats, moggy memes and cat virals have seen regular domestic kitties become celebrities in their own right.

*RIGHTLY SO*

However, cuteness and humour aside, what all of the cats on the net also represent is something within ourselves: our right to be grumpy on a Monday, our right to play the keyboard at inappropriate moments, and our right to sit, content, in a tiny cardboard box.

Internet cat content is a symbol of our freedoms.

THE MISSION - Heading

Sadly, Internet censorship is rife in many countries. Consequently hundreds of millions of people worldwide are denied daily their right to knowledge by governmental controls on sites such as YouTube and Facebook.

It is imperative we recognise and challenge the powers that restrict not only the public’s access to the simple joy of funny cat content, but to information as a whole.

Freedom is knowledge. Knowledge is power. Cats know everything.

From the very heart of the Internet we raise our banner with #ThePussycatRiot: a new protest movement to unite the cats of the world and their owners in opposition to cyber censorship. We aim to raise awareness of the oppressive regimes preventing people from freely enjoying the boundless wealth of mankind’s innovation and creativity... And cat videos.

Every revolution begins with a spark. Normally, a bright red dot on the wall would suffice.
Ours begins with five freedom felines, and a hashtag:

#ThePussycatRiot

OUR LEADERS - Heading

The Pussycat Riot counts five of the world's most famous and current internet cats among its supporters.
Together this heroic cat collective will spearhead the protest against internet censorship.

RAISE A PAW IN SOLIDARITY

You may not be a cat. You may not even know a cat (though, in truth that would surprise us).
The fact is that you don’t even need whiskers to jump on this train.

#ThePussycatRiot campaign calls on cat owners and non-cat owners alike in those countries lucky enough to be free from internet censorship to join the movement and help populate the internet with images and videos of cats symbolising the stand against cyber censorship and those who employ it.

You can show your support for the #ThePussycatRiot in the following four ways, but if you want to freestyle your anti-censorship kitty camaraderie then that’s good with us too.
